MISSION STATEMENT
Awakening the Master Chef in you, yes You
In a little known East Texas town called Gresham Texas, a share-cropper’s family welcomed their fifth child, a boy they named Willie Jewel. Willie, as he was called, shared a two-room house with other 6 family members.
When not in school or at church, the children all worked in the fields with Mom and Dad from about age 7 or 8. The younger children stayed near the house and did the easier chores.
Life centered around hard work and family mostly farming and gardening, but living in a farming community meant learning to live off the land. Chicken, pork, fish, rabbit and occasionally beef — all raised on the farm — were staple meats, while the garden provided a variety of vegetables, many of which were canned.
The younger children were all introduced to preparing nourishing meals for the family. Willie, the youngest, eagerly took to the kitchen, learning the basics of cooking, mostly from Momma Warnell and Cousin Fannie Mae at an early age. He became fascinated by the various tastes provided by the few spices and seasonings available. He often experimented with flavoring, sometimes causing consternation from momma and cousin Fannie Mae when a dish didn’t turn out right. But, the failures along the way were no deterrent to Willie’s determination to experiment.
An accomplished athlete, Willie became the first member of the family and community to earn a full college sports scholarship and later became the second college graduate in his large family while being elected to the American College Edition of Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities’. Willie never shied away from his attempts at combining flavors, looking constantly for that perfect blend, often to the delight of his friends and family.
After college, a career with a major corporation provided Willie with the opportunity to travel the world where he was introduced to a variety of ethnic cooking and those particular, distinctive tastes. He began to include some of these foreign spices in his search for the perfect blend.
Throughout his adult life the trial and error of experimentation continued. After retiring, Willie’s wife, Phillis, enlisted him to take charge of preparing the meats for the dishes she was serving in her successful catering business in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. By this time he had mostly settled on the perfect blend of savory seasonings for meat dishes. He began to use his blend for some of the catering events. Guests at those events began raving about the flavor of the meats.
As Sunday Dinner Catering Services began an explosion from successful to phenomenal! Clients and their guests began begging for the answer to why the meats Phillis served were so full of satisfying flavor. At this point, Willie (now known in the family as Uncle Willie) knew he had finally found the perfect blend for his savory seasoning to use in the catering business.
However, the increasing demand for Uncle Willie to market his original seasoning was finally met with the creation of Alexander’s Great Seasonings. After almost 70 years of experimentation, with a lot of trial and error along the way, the final product has come to market: Alexander’s Great Original Perfect Blend Savory Seasoning.
But, that is not the final chapter…more Alexander’s Great Seasonings will be available soon!
(After all those years of experimentation, did you really think he would stop with just one?)
Now you know the story. It’s time for YOU to taste the best seasoning available!
